Sacos Insurance Group — Giving Women the power to protect the things they love.

At Sacos we understand the importance of safeguarding the yield from women’s hard work: we do this by developing and availing to them a number of insurance products that help them protect everything they value; family, home, health and business.

As a smart woman, you’ve probably had the good sense to get a life insurance policy. Here are some policies you may not have had the foresight to get, and why you should;

Health Insurance: You cannot predict when you’ll fall sick nor what you would be diagnosed with. A health insurance will cover the cost of your treatment when you are sick, so the best time to take out a health insurance is before you fall sick. Not only will the cover be cheaper, but your policy will most likely cover illnesses you will attain from the day the policy became effective and may not cover illnesses you already have.

Householders Policy: Think of all the blood, sweat and tears you have put into building or purchasing your home. Imagine disaster struck… Could you afford to re-build? A comprehensive cover provides compensation in the event of damage to your building and contents of your home due to fire and a wide range of other risks. Remember, our Householders Policy has not one, but TWO components: building insurance provides compensation to damage caused to permanent fixtures such as bathroom, wardrobes and kitchen as well as the bricks and mortar of your house. The home contents insurance covers assets such as your television, refrigerator, articles of clothing and jewellery and other items you consider valuable.

Fire Policy: A basic cover for the budget-conscious which provides compensation in the event of fire, lightening and explosion.

Public Liability cover: If you are a woman that owns her own business, then this cover is a must have as it is designed to protect you if your clients or members of the public suffer personal injury or property damage arising from your business activities.

You have worked undoubtedly hard for the things that you have, and all of it can be taken in one fell swoop if disaster were to strike. A strong, successful woman protects the things that she loves, and this is what we provide here at Sacos: Security.

What we do know, is that upon the unexpected passing of a parent, a lot of children are left with financial instability. As a parent, and especially as a mother, we always want to ensure that our children are taken care of even if we are not there to do it ourselves.

That said, we would like to offer some of our insurance products for consideration, products that are tailored to relieve you of worry and help you plan for yours and your children’s future, even one without you.

Life Insurance: A policy pay-out can help in numerous ways: pay off debts, replace lost income, be veered towards a university fund, be used as personal contribution towards a loan, be used as startup capital towards a business venture — the list goes on!

Sacos’ Education Plan: Designed to help you save by means of a small monthly contribution, the policy is taken on your life with your child being named as the beneficiary, and only he or she will be able to receive the money upon maturity. Double Security Plan: As the head of the household, your family relies on you to make all the important financial decisions. You sort out the bills, the rent, groceries and savings. Upon your unfortunate demise, your family will now have to wade through all of the complicated and stressful matters, you used to take care of for them. Should women be buying Life insurance?

IMG_8859

Women are protective by nature – we always like to take care of others. After all, a lot of us have the financial responsibility of providing for our family, taking care of the household and paying bills, meeting our children’s needs, and worrying about who will provide for them should something happen to us. In taking care of everyone and everything else, we sometimes neglect to take care of someone of the utmost importance: ourself!

Women should not neglect to get life insurance as by nature life insurance re-enforces their protective nature!  Whether you are a CEO, or a stay-at-home mom, life insurance is an important protection to have. Not only does a life insurance policy give peace of mind knowing that your family’s financial needs will be taken care of and financial obligations met in the event of your passing, but it can also be a nice little nest egg for the future!

Life insurance can help pay off your debts, it can be your startup capital towards a business venture, it can offset expenses your family may incur, it can pay your tuition fees if you wish to further yours or your children’s education — the payout from a life insurance policy is so versatile! If you are a caregiver, single parent or working mother life insurance can help buffer the loss of your income. It can also support future expenses for your children or family.

Do not look at life insurance as an expense, instead consider it an investment. Value your life just as much as you value others, and get insured!

Why is it important that I get vaccinated?

If you’ve been paying attention, then you are most likely aware that there is a measles epidemic going round, prompting the health organisation to call on more people to get vaccinated.

Measles, amongst other diseases, is extremely contagious (the virus can linger in rooms even after a sick person has left)  — and can lead to serious complications. How can you protect yourself, and your loved ones? Besides ensuring that your Health insurance policy is up to date, there is also another simple way: get immunised.

The reality is by making sure you and your family are fully vaccinated, not only are you protecting yourselves,  but also protecting vulnerable people in your community. This is because the more people who are vaccinated, the fewer people will be infected, making it less possible for the the disease to spread. This is called ‘herd immunity’

How do vaccines work?

A simple way to explain it is that the ingredient of any vaccine is a small amount of bacteria, virus or toxin of the disease you are trying to prevent that’s been weakened or destroyed in a laboratory first. By exposing your body to the disease in this manner you ‘teach’ your immune system how to create antibodies that protect you from diseases. It is a much safer way for your immune system to learn this through vaccination than by catching the diseases and treating them. Once your immune system knows how to fight a disease, it can often protect you for many years.

Are the any side effects to getting vaccinated?

Yes. As with any medical treatment, vaccines can have a side effects. The most common side effects are mild, like soreness where the needle went in, or a slight fever. Serious side effects are rare. However it is important to note that following extensive studies, it has been shown that there is no link between vaccines and autism: autism is not a side effect of vaccines.

The bottom line is vaccines  make the immune system work more efficiently. Don’t be so worried about the risks of vaccines that you forget to worry about the risks of the diseases vaccines prevent.
